Intro
I'm just a guy who likes movies. I'll review movies from any era and any genere (Except Horror or Romance. If I do review one of those, I got the synopsis from Wikipedia). I will give a synopsis, an opinon, and a rating out of 5. If you have any questions, comments, and or movies you would like me to review, please write it down in the comment section below.

Z
Synopsis: The first 20 minutes of this classic French thriller shows a little of the inter workings of the Greek goverment circa 1963, and the complications of a oppistion party in trying to hold a rally. The rally goes admist a riot from pro-gov supporters. The rally is considered a sucess, until the leader of the party is assinated in a drive-by clubbing. The rest of the movies focuses on the subsequent investigation and its consequences, most notably the overthrow of the Greek democracy later that year. The film is based of real events, and boast the following disclaimer: "Any resemblance to real events, to persons living or dead, is not accidental. It is DELIBERATE."
Opinon: The disclamer is accurate, because the film is realistic enough to be a documentary, With superb acting, a thrilling plot, and an extremly fitting score, I'm still trying to figure out how this film did not win Best Picture at the Oscars in 1970.
Rating: 4.5 out of 5

The Great Escape
Synopsis: There isn't much to explain here. The first 2 hours of the film are about the preperation for the titular event. In the end, They get 76 out of the 250 prisoners. The last hour is spent on the fate of the escapees. 50 are killed, 3 escape to safety, and the rest are returned to the prison.
Opinion: The film does a good job at keeping you at the edge of your seat and intrested, even though the movie is about three hours long.
Rating: 4 out of 5

Avatar
Synopsis: The plot is pretty straight forward. A crippled ex-marine is sent into a alien civilization, via avatar (hence the title). There he gets accepted, and eventually falls in love. Then he fights the company who wants to wipe them out. Finally, he switchs over to an alien body and becomes apart of the tribe.
Opinion: This is essential James Cameron: all action and visual effects, and very little plot. If you think about it, this is simply a sci-fi remake of "Dances With Wolves". And even with it's great special effects and billon dollar gross profit, it still didn't win Best Picture at the 2010 Oscars.
Rating: 2.5 out of 5

Top Secret
Synopsis: It's a really straight forward plot. An American rock star comes to East Berlin for a music festival, and gets tied in a espionage plot, as well falling in love with a kidnapped scientist's daughter.
Opinion: This should seem like a very serious movie. However, this being a from the makers of "Airplane!", one would expect a lot of crazy comic gags. And they would be right. This movie has many memorable comic scenes, including the memrobale ending homage to "The Wizard of Oz".
Rating: 4 out of 5

Tune in Next week for another post.
